Composers’ Day 2012 (Feb. 18 and 19th)-Announcement

CAMAGA will be celebrating the Great Composers Day on February 18th and 19th, 2012.  The Great Composers, whose compositions will be sung on this day, only includes Sri Purandaradasa, Sri Syama Sastri, Sri Thyagaraja and Sri Muthuswamy Dikshitar. The function will be held at the Hindu Temple of Atlanta, Riverdale and will begin at 8 A.M. on each day.  Those interested in registering to participate are requested to go over the following guidelines and send in your registration form (and registration fee if applicable) accordingly.

 

1.      The registration form (click here for the registration form) is required from:

o   individual performers,

o   group participants,

o   accompanists (Pakkavadyam) and

o   Individuals participating only in the group singing of Pancharatna krithis and Utsava Sampradaya krithis.

2.       Completed registration form  should be emailed as an attachment to camaga@bellsouth.net

3.      For group participants, registrations should ONLY be submitted by the teachers on behalf of the group with names of participants.  Registration form received directly from a parent or group participant will not be accepted. 

4.      Note for Teachers: When submitting more than one group, please denote each group by a number (e.g. group 1, group 2 etc) and the names of participants within each group. CAMAGA does not decide the groups or who should be included as participant within a group; it is solely decided by the respective teachers. 

1.      In the case of group, the teachers must collect the registration fees from each non-CAMAGA member from within their group and mail the check directly to CAMAGA (6011 Rocky Shoals Court, Tucker, GA, 30084). 

2.      Registration fee for non-members: Registration fee is required for participants who are not members of CAMAGA. Each participant not a member of CAMAGA in the year 2011 must pay a registration fee of $25 (the registration fee applies whether the non-member participates within a group, as an individual, or as an accompanist).  

3.      CAMAGA members: Prior year members yet to renew their 2012 current year CAMAGA membership, must also send in a registration fee of $ 25 per participant. At the time of renewal of the 2012 membership, the registration fee paid to participate in the Aradhana will be offset against the total amount payable to renew the 2012 membership.

4.      All participants: Kindly note, to ensure that the registrant is registered as a participant,  the registration form and the registration fee (in the case of  non-members or 2011 members yet to renew their 2012 membership) must be  received by CAMAGA latest by January 31, 2012.  No registration form or registration fee will be accepted after this date.

5.      Acknowledgement: Registrants who have completed the formalities within the due date will receive an acknowledgement confirming receipt of your registration. The acknowledgement is usually sent within 72 hours of the receipt of the registration and the registration fee. If a registrant does not receive an acknowledgement, contact CAMAGA immediately after the lapse of 72 hours.  It is the registrant’s responsibility to resolve the registration issue before the end of registration process, January 31, 2012.   After the lapse of three days from the time you had sent in your registration and the accompanying fee, we will not accept any further requests with regard to the registration.

6.      Early closure of registration: If we receive more requests than we can accommodate within the time available for participation during the two-day function, CAMAGA would close the registration process earlier than the stipulated closure date for registration,   January 31, 2012.
