Pandit Suresh Talwalkar Pandit Suresh Talwalkar, one of the great exponents of `tabla' has contributed immensely to the field of Indian classical music. He comes from an illustrious family of famous keertankar Dholebua. His father Shri Dattatrey Talwalkar, a noted pakhawaj player initiated him into ` tabla' at a very young age. He studied the art of tabla from veterans like Pt. Pandharinath Nageshkar and Pt. Vinayakrao Ghangrekar. Besides Suresh ji has taken training on `layashastra' from Pt. Ramnad Ishwaran, a renowned mridangam player and vidwan from the South India. This diverse training enabled Pt. Talwalkar to imbibe the intricacies of both North and South India, thus making him a unique tabla artist. Widely experienced and privileged due to his unparalleled talent, Sureshji had been accompanying the great classical musicians from India since very young age. He has accompanied renowned vocalists like Smt. Mogubai Kurdikar, Pt. Gajanan Rao Joshi, Pt. Mallikarjun Mansoor, Pt. Nivruttibua Sarnaik, Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Smt. Kishori Amonkar, Ustad Khadim Hussain, Pt. Jasraj and Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki. Among the instrumentalists, he has accompanied Ustad Vilayat Khan, Pt. Ramnarayan, Pt. V.G.Jog, Pt. Shivkumar Sharma, Pt. Hariprasad Chourasia, Pt. Budhaditya Mukherjee, Ustad Shahid Parvez and so on. His accompaniments with kathak dancers like Pt. Gopikrishna, Pandit Birju Maharaj, Smt. Rohini Bhate and Sunaina Devi have given a new meaning to the tabla accompaniment of this dance form. His music is a household name in India due to many cassettes of solo performances released by well known recording companies of India and abroad. Sureshji has toured and performed widely in many countries including, U.S.A., UK, Germany, France, Canada, Holland, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Spain, Iran, Turkey, Cyprus, African continent, Thailand Bangladesh, Greece, UAE and so on. His creativity and skill on tabla has been appreciated even by the unfamiliar audiences in some of these countries not to mention the musicians. Due to his thorough knowledge of Indian classical music in general and tabla in particular, Sureshji is invited by renowned institutions for lecture demonstrations and workshops. He has coordinated and conceptualized seminars and music discussions organized by eminent institutions. Pandit Sudhir Phadke is a Sitar Player from Pune, with over two decade’s experience on the concert stage. A disciple of Smt. Annapurna Devi of Senia – Allauddin Gharana, Sudhir is regarded as one among India’s leading Instrumentalists. Music runs in Sudhir’s blood. His grandfather, Late Wamanrao Phadke, who was a disciple of Pandit Vishnu Digambar Paluskar, gave Sudhir his early lessons of Classical Music. His father, Late Pandit Sachchidanand Phadke, an eminent Sitarist, trained in both the Gwalior – Paluskar & Senia – Allauddin styles, provided Sudhir with a thorough foundation in the Musical Arts. At the age of 16, Sudhir had the privilege of being accepted as a disciple by an exceptionally great musician & Guru Smt. Annapurna Devi who is the authority of our times of the 400 years old Senia tradition. Her father Late Ustad Allaudin Khan Saheb was a towering figure of 20th century Indian Classical Music, whose disciples include world famous musicians. Sudhir has been trained to follow the footsteps of some legendary musicians of the past & present. Sudhir is ‘A’ class performing artist of All India Radio & has performed in all the major music festivals all over India, including the prestigious ‘SAWAI GANDHARVA’ music festival of Pune. He has also performed out of India in many countries like USA, UK, Japan, Middle East or Persian Gulf Countries, East African countries. His last trip to USA was in 2001, in which he performed at 14 different cities & his concerts were very well appreciated everywhere. Ramdas Palsule Having achieved Bachelor's degree in engineering, he has developed his career as a talented, promising young tabla player. He is a disciple of eminent tabla player, Taal-Yogi Pandit Suresh Talwalkar. He is an accomplished soloist as well as versatile accompanist. He has traveled widely all over India and abroad to USA, Germany, Gulf Countries, Australia, and Africa among many other places for his tabla performances. He has accompanied many great artists such as Late Pandit Jeetendra Abhisheki, Pandit Jasraj, Pandit Shivkumar Sharma, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar, Ustad Shahid Parvez, Ustad Sultan Khan, Pandit Vishwamohan Bhatt, Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya, Dr. N. Rajan, Pandit Ronu Majoomdar, Mrs. Malini Rajurkar, Mrs. Veena Sahastrabuddhe, Mrs. Rohini Bhate, Mrs. Shama Bhate, and Smt. Shashwati Sen, among many others. He is well known for tabla solo performances as well as accompaniment of vocal, instrumental and dance. Sameer Dubale is a disciple of Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki and has given several concerts in India and abroad. |
